After a great first show back in November, it’s time for round 2 of 55dsl’s Pic+Mix at the infamous Studio55 (upstairs at the 55DSL flagship store).

The second show in this series takes place on the 03.12.09, working with the Monorex Agency, where experimental graffiti artist Chu has chosen to work with fellow street artist & illustrator Disco Teck. Using the tools of their trade, aerosol vs. marker pen to give a 360 degree installation that will seriously turn your head.

For those who missed the first one, Pic+Mix is a new series of art exhibitions curated by Intercity for 55dsl. Each show will see a renowned artist selecting and working with a collaborator of their choice; this could be a like-minded contemporary, a fresh new talent, or an artist from a completely different discipline; Photography, sculpture, moving image, furniture design, music and more – all are up for grabs. The collaborative nature of this series of shows will offer diverse ways of working, and the results will be a creative mix of both talents and techniques.

I will be spinning a mix of Funk, Soul, Hip Hop & Beats throughout the night and I’m sure there’ll be some drinks kicking about too.

A selection of truely superb underground Hip Hop productions from 2000-present day, that aims to “shed some light on the fairly quiet revolution that has been taking place under the surface of mainstream media in recent years” as 2Tall puts it. He continues, “This is a journey from late 90s crate digging, to the circuit-bent soundscapes of the so called ‘post-dilla’ era”.

From 12 midday today (Nov 26) through until midday tomorrow (Nov 27), creative digital agency Nonsense London, and web development company White October are joining forces to build a brand spanking new web-based business.

It’s already up for sale on eBay.

At time of writing this, we have 20 hours and 46 minutes left (yep, we’re working through the night). We’ve already had a nice big fry up, a successful brainstorm (nope, we didn’t know what we were making at the start) and have now chosen the concept. Branding and development meetings to follow.

Claremont 56 is an indie label with such artists as Idjut Boys, Recloose & Smith & Mudd.
